The Challenge
Tic Tacs are a miniature product with a big brand heart. The problem is, Tic Tac only commands a small retail space that's often low on shelves. They’re dwarfed by bigger new-kids-on-the-block that demand a larger share of shelf because of their plus-size packaging and get lost in the point of sale clutter. Being so busy these days, our audience don’t often have the time, or patience, to look close and search for the product we want, especially if it’s small. We needed to show our audience that it was worth looking a little closer.
the idea
Ever heard of the saying “It’s All In The Details”? That’s exactly what the Tic Tac Tiny Posters ‘Look Closer’ campaign set out to promote. In Tic Tac’s tiny little packages, amazing and fun things awaits you. All you have to do is look more closely.
So to get our audience to start looking for tiny surprises, we created a series of super-tiny posters, the same size as Tic Tac packages. The Tiny Posters were placed in surprising and unexpected locations related to the playful illustrations and copy featured on each; like our romantic ‘Will You TicTac (Marry) Me?’ poster placed at Hullet House (a favorite location for couples and newlyweds) and the music inspired ‘Ticstar’ hidden in the streets of Sheung Wan near some live band venues to name just a few.
It wasn’t just offline that you could find the posters either, we made it easy for fans to look closer on Facebook (mobile version too) and discover the fun detail in our Tiny Posters. And all for a budget of $5000 HKD / $640 US dollars!
